Upload files once into your practice library, then attach them to eForm templates (or a specific eForm) so clients can download them while they complete the form.
Before you start
eForm attachments are documents your practice shares with the client. They are not the same as:
Allow document upload on a question, which lets the client upload a file as their answer.
Proposal Attachments under Templates, which are used on proposals, not eForms.
Document Templates, which are Word-style templates for onboarding and clearance letters.
Files in the library are reusable. You do not need to upload the same PDF for every form.
Add a file to the library
Go to Templates, then eForms.
Open the Attachments tab.
Click New attachment.
Enter an Attachment name (this is what staff see when they pick a file later).
Optionally add Document information. These notes are for your team (for example, when to use the file). Clients do not see this text.
Drag a file into the dropzone, or click to browse.
Click Save.
File rules
Most common file types are accepted (PDF, Word, Excel, images, ZIP, and similar).
Maximum size is 10 MB.
In-app Preview is available for PDFs only. Other types can still be downloaded.
Executable-style files (for example .exe, .bat, .msi) are blocked for security.
Edit, preview, or hide a file
Click a row (or the edit icon) to change the name, document information, or Inactive switch.
You cannot replace the uploaded file after save. To use a new version, mark the old one inactive and upload a new attachment.
Use Preview for PDFs, or Download to get the original file.
Turn on Show inactive if you need to find files you have hidden from pickers.
Inactive files no longer appear when you attach documents to a form. Existing eForms that already include that file are unchanged until you edit those forms.
Attach files to an eForm template
Attach files on the template so every new eForm created from it includes those documents. You can share files at section level, question level, or both.
On Templates, then eForms, stay on the Form templates tab.
Open the template you want to update (or create a new one).
Save the template after you attach files.
Share documents on a section
In the section header, click the document icon labelled Share documents with client.
Open Add file from library and choose a file.
Add more files if needed. Use the up and down arrows to set the order, or remove a file you no longer want shared.
Chosen files appear at the top of that section when the client fills the form.
Share documents on a question
On the question, click the gear icon (Question settings).
Find Share documents with client.
Choose one or more files from the library, then reorder or remove them as needed.
Chosen files appear with that question so the client can download them while answering.
If the picker says there are no files yet, add them under the Attachments tab first, then return to the template.
You can use the same controls when editing a section template.
Attach files to a specific eForm
You can also attach library files when you build or edit an individual eForm (for example under eForms), using the same section and question controls.
Once a client has started answering, or the form is locked, you cannot change which documents are shared. Attach files before you send the form, or put them on the template so they are included when the eForm is created.
What the client sees
Section documents show as Documents for this section at the top of the section.
Question documents show as Documents for this question with that question.
The client clicks the file name to download it. They only receive files you attached on that form.
Use Preview on the template or eForm to confirm what the client will see before you send it.
Typical workflow
Upload files once under Templates, then eForms, then Attachments.
Open the eForm template.
Attach the right library files to the section and/or questions that need them.
Save the template.
Create and send the eForm as usual. The shared documents are included automatically.
The client downloads those files while completing the form.
