For firms migrating from an existing proposal system (such as Ignition, Socket, etc.), OnboardMe allows you to import a CSV or XLS file of your services, or you can export our default services list, customise it, and import it back into OnboardMe.
To import your services, log in to OnboardMe and navigate to Templates / Proposals / Services & Packages.
Here you will see a list of the active services in your OnboardMe account. The platform comes with defaults, which can be customised or archived if they don't apply to your firm.
Click Manage Services and Import / Export Services to get started.
This will open the Import or Export Services importer, which walks you through the process in five steps:
Export to edit (optional) — Download your current services to edit them offline in Excel or another editor, then re-upload to apply changes in bulk.
Upload your spreadsheet — Upload your exported file, the blank template filled in, or a CSV/Excel file from another system (e.g. Ignition). Only the first sheet is read and row 1 must be column headers.
Map columns in the table — Match your spreadsheet columns to the correct fields in OnboardMe, then fill or fix any missing values such as pricing, frequency, or tax.
Update in bulk or row by row — Apply the same service type, pricing, frequency, or tax to every row at once, or edit individual cells in the table.
Import some or all — Import services one at a time, or use Import All to submit every row in one go.
If you'd prefer to start from scratch, you can download the blank template using the Download template (.xlsx) button.
Exporting Services from Ignition
To import services from Ignition into OnboardMe, first you will need to export your active services list from Ignition.
Log in to Ignition
Head to the Services tab on the left-hand side menu and click on Export.
This will generate a CSV file that will be sent to your email, which can take a few minutes to arrive. When you receive it, download the file from your email.
If you'd like to make changes to the services before importing, you can open the downloaded file and make the necessary changes.
Make sure to keep the headings in the first line, this is needed for the Import back into OnboardMe.
Importing Services into OnboardMe
Once you have the export from Ignition or have made changes to the OnboardMe Services in the downloaded CSV, click the Import Services button to open the Modal and Drop the file into the file upload area at the bottom.
Once the import completes, the sheets data will show in the table.
If you are using the OnboardMe exported CSV, the column names should be automatically mapped above the table, if using the Ignition CSV export, some mapping may be required.
The Columns needed are as follows:
Service Name: Name of the service in your menu of services, will be shown on all lists and in the application.
Service Type: The typer or category of the service being offered. If not known a default value can be selected.
Pricing Model: The pricing for the service. OnboardMe offers Fixed, Hourly, Range or Included pricing models for services.
Frequency: The Frequency at which this service will be offered to your clients. OnboardMe offers a range of different options including Annually, Once Off, Monthly, Quarterly, Weekly, On Completion and Fortnightly.
Price / Hourly rate: The fixed price for the service or the hourly rate of the service if the services pricing model is set to hourly.
For Range pricing, these prices will need to be set on each service after the import.
Tax %: The default Tax Rate for the service.
Description: The rich text description of the service.
If any of your columns did not have values when importing or you wanted to bulk update rows, click the Bulk Update rows button.
This will open the Bulk Updater option that will allow you to create defaults across all rows.
Once you've set the columns you'd like to apply, click the Apply button to the right of the column, or use the Apply All button at the bottom to apply all updates at once.
Once updates are complete, click the close button to go back to the Importer.
Once all rows are ready to be imported, click the Import All button and OnboardMe will begin the Import process.
