# Signing: send documents for e-signature

Signing lets you send documents to your clients to sign electronically. You put
one or more documents in a signing pack, choose who signs, and OnboardMe emails
(or texts) each person a secure link. When everyone has signed, you get the
signed documents and a signing certificate.

You can send OnboardMe's ASIC forms (Australian businesses), your own documents
saved as templates, or a PDF you upload just for one pack.

Why it helps

 * Clients sign on any device, with no account and no printing or scanning.

 * One link opens every document in the pack, so clients sign everything in one
   go.

 * Every pack has a full audit trail and a signing certificate you can rely on
   later.

 * Signed copies are saved against the client, ready to lodge or file.

OPEN THE SIGNING PAGE

Click Signing in the menu. The page lists every signing pack your business has
sent, newest first.

Each row shows the Company, the Signing pack name and its documents, the Signers
and where each one is up to, when it was Sent, where it was Sent from, the
automated Reminders sent and the pack's Status.

Use the filters at the top to find a pack:

 * Search by company, form or signer.

 * Status shows one status only.

 * Sent from shows packs sent from Signing, an Onboarding or a Proposal.

 * Turn on Cancelled or Completed to include cancelled and fully signed packs.
   They're hidden by default.

> Tip: The first time you open Signing, a short guided tour walks you through
> the page and a pack using example data. You can run it again from Help &
> Support > Guided tours.

WHAT YOUR CLIENT SEES

Your client opens the link, confirms it's them, and OnboardMe walks them through
each place to fill in, tick or sign. They draw their signature once and it's
added everywhere it's needed in the pack. See How your client signs
[https://onboardme.help.center/article/1172].

PACK STATUSES

Status

What it means

Sent

The pack has gone out and nobody has opened it yet.

Opened

Someone has opened the pack but hasn't signed yet.

Part signed

Some people have signed and others haven't.

Signed

Everyone has signed. The signed documents and certificate are ready.

Cancelled

The pack was cancelled and can no longer be signed.

Each person also has their own status: Sent, Opened or Signed. A person who only
reviews the documents shows Confirmed viewed once they've confirmed.

WHAT IT COSTS

 * Each signing pack uses 1 request when it's sent, however many documents it
has. It comes from your subscription, or from your wallet at your request
price if you have none left.

 * Each SMS (a link or a sign-in code sent by text) is charged from your wallet
   at your SMS price.

 * Sending the link again doesn't use another request. Any SMS it sends is
   charged again.

WHO CAN USE SIGNING

 * Everyone in your team can send and manage signing packs, unless your business
has hidden Signing for their role.

 * Only owners and admins can manage Signing templates, change Sign-in settings
and use Verify a signed document.

 * OnboardMe's ASIC forms are only available to Australian businesses, and can
only be sent to companies. Your own documents can be sent to any client.
